Getting started

What you get with every build

The three files in your download and what each is for.

Updated October 1, 2026 · 1 min read

app-release.apk

A release-signed, installable package for direct installs, testers and stores other than Google Play. Typically 5–7 MB.

app-release.aab

The Android App Bundle Google Play requires. Upload it under Production, Open, Closed or Internal testing in the Play Console.

keystore.jks and passwords.txt

Your signing key and its passwords. Both artefacts above are signed with this key, and ApkZio reuses it for every rebuild of the same app. Back it up: Play only accepts updates signed with the same key, and we cannot recover a lost keystore after the retention period.

Also in My Apps

  • The build log, useful when something looks wrong.
  • Expiring download links you can share with a client or tester.
  • The version code, which increases automatically on each rebuild.
