Connect a push provider and reach users on the home screen.

Push is a Pro feature. You need an account with OneSignal (easiest) or Firebase Cloud Messaging.

OneSignal

  1. Create a free OneSignal account and a new app of type Android.
  2. Follow OneSignal’s Firebase setup to add a Firebase server key (OneSignal walks you through it).
  3. Copy the OneSignal App ID and paste it into the Features step of the builder.
  4. Build. Devices register on first launch; send campaigns from the OneSignal dashboard or their WordPress plugin.

Firebase Cloud Messaging

  1. Create a Firebase project and add an Android app with your exact package name.
  2. Download google-services.json and upload it in the builder.
  3. Build. Send messages from the Firebase console or your server.

Set the notification’s launch URL to any page on your site; the app opens it directly.

Permission prompt

Android 13+ requires a runtime permission for notifications. ApkZio asks after the user’s second session by default; change this on the Features step.
